Farewell to the Twins!

"Our" twins Alison and Katerine last week went home with their PARENTS, T.J. and Tami Mitchell. They also gained a sister, Madison. The Mitchells are adopting through a process called Guardianship to Adopt. While it is a two year process for the adoption to be final, we believe that all will go well and the twins will be theirs forever! The Mitchells are the family that have cared for the twins from the time they were 11 months until they came to live with us seven months ago. The twins were thrilled to go home with their new mommy and daddy and have adjusted beautifully back into the Mitchell family.

The Twins with their New Family!

The house has been incredibly quiet without the two busiest of bees. It is amazing how just two less kiddos can make the house seem EMPTY. We miss them terribly, but know that they are in the best place for them to be! I wanted to post the following pictures of some of our times with the twins.

We are privileged to have been able to care for the twins these past seven months. Katerine and Alison both grew so much physically and emotionally while they were with us. Katerine was potty trained while she was with us and Alison outgrew her fear of men with beards and strangers! They loved singing with us the Spanish songs they learned at Horita Feliz. Every night we would have to sing at least two or three before they would go to sleep. We miss their hugs and kisses and noisy chatter and laughter. It has been a rewarding work having them in our home. They will have a place forever in our hearts and our prayers. Que les vaya bien, Gemelas, y Dios les bendiga!

  1. Wow! I am happy for Alison and Katerine, and I am so thankful we got to spend some time with them while they were in your home. I can imagine the EMPTY spot in your home with them gone. Burnell will miss his mealtime partner! :) I will miss Alison's attention and willingness to help me when she perceived a need I might have. May our Father draw them to himself and use their lives to glorify him. I hope they have developed a love for singing praises to God that will bless their lives.

Good-bye, Girls, I hope I have a chance to see you again if/when we return to Bolivia.

    Love to all,

    Madre

  2. It is a rather emotional ministry you are involved in. My heart is happy for the twins, but I am missing them, just knowing they are not with you. :)

I am really happy for the Mitchells! What a blessing to Katerine and Alison to have parents to love and care for them.

  3. Your mom said it well! "An emotional ministry" I am always so THRILLED when kids get adopted...but at the same time so SAD that I don't get to see them again! At least you can get updates from the Mitchell family :)

    Love to you all!

  4. So happy for the twins and their new parents, but know how you must miss those sweet little girls! It must be especially hard for Paula, being their age, and their playmate.

I know you gave Alison and Katerine the best of care during those 7 mos., and prepared them well for this change of families. What a blessing this must be for the Mitchells!

    Loving you all,

    Mother/Grandma B
